Summary | Provide therapy to agency clients, other agencies’ clients per agreement and provide consultation to other agencies.

Day to Day Functions | Follow all agency policies and procedures and all professional codes of ethics.

1. Counseling

A. Quality of Service

  • Conduct interviews with clients covering problem identification, intervention planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Conduct individual, couple, family, group and play therapy with clients according to generally accepted treatment norms.
  • Conduct therapy at other sites as requested.
  • Track goals of clients and meet required outcome measurements.

B. Direct Service Hours

  • Complete client therapy hours and scheduling in accordance with agency standards.
  • Provide court testimony and depositions when subpoenaed and interface with legal system.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision as required by supervisor.

2. Record keeping

  • Regarding TDPRS clients, therapist agrees to accept and abide by all terms and conditions imposed on the primary Contractor (TPC) in the contract between the Department and the primary Contractor (TPC)
  • Complete paperwork according to agency standards and time frames; complete CPS paperwork according to CPS contract requirements.
  • Complete client case record information including intake, treatment plans, narratives, termination summaries and other forms as necessary for all cases.
  • Provide weekly statistics, appointments and client information to clinical scheduler.
  • Timely completion of all paperwork required for billing.
  • Obtain clients’ release of information on all CPS, Medicaid insurance or potential court cases.
  • Provided insurance companies with written and verbal information as requested.

Requirements | Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.

Certification and /or licensure: Must have LMFT, LPC or LCSW license and be approved by the state to provide therapy.

Professional Expectations | Present and maintain professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Maintain current Texas licensure/certification.
  • Maintain malpractice insurance.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • Keep client information confidential.

Experience | Must have 3 years post graduate degree experience providing therapy to individuals, families and children.

  • Experience in providing therapy to families and children.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive, behavioral, family systems, psychodynamic and play therapy.
  • Knowledge of child development and child abuse.
  • Ability to relate to people with respect for their culture and individuality.
  • Able to relate to individuals with diverse value systems and behavioral norms.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with all age clients.
  • Experience working with Child Protective Service clients or experience working with abused children
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality regarding clients and agency business.

Must be fully licensed. No interns or associates will be considered.

Salary/ Compensation Package | Pay Matrix depending on the numbers of sessions and type of session (CPS/all other) between $37 – $50/session
