The PATH Project- Positive Behavior Intervention & Social Skills – Junior League of Arlington

Positive Behavior Intervention: This workshop will help families understand the reason for behavioral assessments and positive interventions with a focus on behaviors that serve a specific purpose for a student. We will discuss using positive consequences versus punishment to change behavior, as well as what IDEA 2004 says concerning positive behavior interventions
Communication Skills: Communicating effectively with professionals that provide services to your child is key to obtaining and maintaining services. Workshop participants will learn the three components of communication, verbal, nonverbal and paraverbal, in order to communicate more effectively with others. We will also explore how to effectively receive messages from others and discuss the barriers to effective communication.
Class meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
This FREE community class is held in partnership with The PATH Project.
